Nelsonville SOLD in 2015
My Parents Sold our cabin today July 31st, 2015. It is a wonderful place and God has blessed many people as they interacted with my family there. My memories are of catching frogs, playing flashlight tag, singing around the campfire, catching Sunfish and Crappies from the diving raft and from my little boat call the Blue Gill, at about 11 years of age when I got a fishhook in my finger (past the barb) and Dad telling me that he could take me to the doctor in Aitkin and he would push it through or my Dad could push it through; I chose Dad; he told me that I could yell as loud as I wanted but I could not move and the people on the diving raft could see me hear me from inside the mobile home screeming, playing games, hanging out with friends, building the cabin in 1985, the Stevensons, the Portz's, the Jacobsons, Ed & Marge Barrow, Going to the country Methodist church and calling ourselves Metherans (Methodist at the Cabin, Lutherans in Minneapolis), skiing on one ski the very first time I every tried skiing for about 50 feet; my one ski came off, Alan Jacobsen and Mark Thornbloom teaching me how to Slalom Ski, Skiing from sitting on the dock and landing by sitting on the diving raft, catching tadpoles, fishing bass with frogs, Whispering Lake, eating smoked snapper turtle, building a tree house, building a Tee-pee, making bike trails in the back lot, gardening with Grandpa & Grandma Nelson and Grandma Gladys, As a little kid "Grandpa caught a Whale" (Grandpa Archer had a fish so big that we had to drag it to shore), Staining the cabin the first year Kelli and I were married, jumping off the trailer roofs into a 5 foot plus pile of snow, our dog Duncan getting sprayed by a skunk in the winter (he woke her from hibernation), 2 bike trips to the cabin, going to Covenant Pines as a 5th grader and again going when I was 19 as a volunteer counselor (that is the place that God began to call me to true faith in Him, Working at Covenant Pines for 3 summers and driving the mail Jeep, More Later...
